TEDxYouth@GirlCoders, current under development, will be a local, TEDx-styled speaking and idea-sharing event hosted by volunteers and geared toward youth. At this inspiring event, girls K–12 can share their experiences in Girl Coders workshops, gaining confidence as coders, to get curious girls in the local community excited to explore STEM. GirlCodersHack
GirlCodersHacks, currently under development, will be a local hackathon experience, run by volunteers, in which girls K–12 will gather to collaboratively create coding projects, using skills they’ve learned through Girl Coders workshops, while immersed in a positive, creative environment populated by likeminded girls. This will be an evening of teamwork, technology, and raucous fun while learning important STEM skills. The girls will be amazed by what they have the power to create.
